What is a domain?
A domain is the address or URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a particular website; it is an alphanumeric name corresponding to the numeric IP address of computer on the Internet. For example www.webware.com.mt is the domain name for the numeric IP address "72.36.175.10".
How do I check to see if a domain name is available?
You can use our domain search tool in our homepage. Write down your desired domain in the box provided and choose the extension/TLD (Top Level Domain) from the list.
Which domain name extensions (TLDs) can you register for me?
Webware can register domains using the .com .net .org .biz .info .name .us .tv .cc .ws .bz .tc .gs .ms .vg extensions.
How much do you charge for domain names?
Webware offers the cheapest prices for domain names with an online domain management service in Malta.
Is there a limit to the length of my domain name?
Domain names can be up to 67 alphanumeric characters and hyphens. This includes the .com, .net, .org, etc. extension. In addition, domain names cannot begin or end with a hyphen and .biz and .info domain names must have at least four characters (not including the extension).
What if I already have a domain name? Can I transfer it to Webware?
Yes, you can transfer any domain name to Webware’s system. This does not mean you are transferring ownership to us, but only that you are transferring your domain server name (DNS) to point to Webware's server. Click on ‘Transfer’ after searching for your domain. Currently, Webware offers transfers for .com .net and .org domains.
Is there a fee for domain transfer?
Yes, but this is a special fee. It is less than the yearly fee for a domain name. You can check the prices when searching for a domain.
Will I loose my money if a transfer is cancelled or declined?
No. You can start a fresh transfer request for the same or for a different domain. When the transfer request is in your shopping cart, just click on ‘Order Now’ instead of ‘Checkout’ and contact us specifying your domain name. We will approve the new transfer request free of charge.
What is the ‘Technical Contact’ and the ‘Responsible Contact’ for a domain name?
The ‘Technical Contact’ refers to the person registering the domain name while the ‘Responsible Contact’ refers to the person owning the domain. So, if you buy a domain name for another person/organisation, the Technical Contact would be the details of your Webware account while the Responsible Contact would be the details of that person/organisation.
What are my domain nameservers?
In order for a domain name to be pointed to a particular hosting account, the nameservers of a domain must be pointed to the server storing your hosting account. If you host your website with Webware, you need to set your nameservers to:
Primary Nameserver: ns1.webware.com.mt
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.webware.com.mt
What is hosting?
In a general sense, "hosting" refers to "website hosting". This is the service required to display websites on the internet. If you run a website or do business on the web, you need a web hosting service with a good, reliable host.
What type of hosting Webware offers?
Webware offers ‘Shared Hosting’, which means that multiple Web sites are on the same server in order to "share" costs. Since many Web sites do not require a dedicated server, this enables Webware to offers the cheapest prices possible on website hosting
What is the monthly data transfer?
The monthly data transfer is the amount (in Mb) of all the information transferred to and from your hosting account, including your website files, e-mail and FTP.
How can I manage my hosting account?
We offer the best control panel for hosting accounts in the web hosting industry at no extra charge to our clients. When registering for your hosting account, you will be asked to create a CPanel™ username and password. Please note that your CPanel™ login may be different from your Webware login. You can access CPanel™ via our account manager or by visiting http://www.webware.com.mt/cpanel and entering your username and password.
Are there any hidden fees?
No, there aren’t any hidden fees. All the fees are specified on the web-site.
Does Webware offer also custom packages?
Yes, we offer custom packages. Simply send an email to sales@webware.com.mt to discuss your needs.
What do I do if I go over my monthly bandwidth limit?
In this case we suggest that you upgrade your account to the next package. Contact us for more details.
How can I be a Webware Partner?
If you are a web developer, or you just want to start a hosting business and sell unlimited hosting accounts, then you may become a Webware Partner. Simply send an email to partners@webware.com.mt
Who decides the prices for the hosting accounts that I will sell?
You decide. You have complete control over your customers. Webware will never contact or receive queries from your customers. You will have full control over your business from your own hosting account.
How will Webware protect my security and privacy?
We will keep your account details in our own secured databases. We will never sell or give out any of your personal information. When you provide your card details for payment, we will not even store your card number. It is directly forwarded to the bank for processing.
